Allandale Lodge is a boutique heritage-style bed and breakfast, overlooking the rolling high country hills of Fairlie in the heart of the South Island. Owners Keith and Alison Hatton exude true Kiwi hospitality in welcoming visitors to their home.
Nestled on 5 acres of farmland, the historic lodge has been lovingly renovated, offering 2 queen bedrooms and 1 single bedroom tastefully decorated to reflect the country colours of the Mackenzie region.
Originally built as a school in 1911, then later used as a community hall, it has been transformed into the Lodge's living area with polished New Zealand native timber floors and log fire.
We also operate a small boutique Smokehouse across the courtyard from the Lodge. Fat Albert Smokehouse and Store specialises in smoked salmon, venison, duck, chorizo sausage and more.
Complimentary tastings upon arrival for our guests.
A great escape for the weekend, or central point for daily excursions. Only 2 hours South of Christchurch, 3.5 hours North of Dunedin, 3.5 hours North of Queenstown and 1.5 hours to Mt Cook.
Situated 5kms north of Fairlie on the Geraldine-Fairlie Highway. Entrance via Hamilton Road. Please note that GPS will take you to the wrong entrance.
Please note that check-in time is between 3pm and 7pm.

Following is feedback posted by visitors to this property:Wonderful Stay with Fantastic Hosts
Allison and Keith were very hospitable and treated us like family, from the welcome tea to a delicious breakfast this was highly recommended. Unfortunately, they are considering retirement so make sure they are the current owners before you book.

Comfort plus and a great breakfast
An excellent stopover on the way to Wanaka. We enjoyed the welcoming hosts, the lovely decor and facilities in the refurbished former schoolhouse, and the plentiful and delicious breakfast.
